A blanket may offer warmth to a poor child during winter, but an act of kindness will forever warm the heart of an innocent child. This morning, Miss Botswana 2026, Magdeline Angel Modipane, took the time to carry out her mission of serving the young ones of Botswana through her Beauty With A Purpose organization, Tlhokomelo.
Magdeline paid a surprise visit to Solomon Dihutso Primary School where she presented blankets and winter care packs to the learners. During this visit, the young children had an opportunity to receive a bundle of care as Magdeline reminded the young ones that they are cared for and cherished. With winter in full onset, many children in Botswana are not at ease as they spend time in class without proper clothing due to the biting cold.
In addition, many are forced to sleep in bed without sufficient bedding to keep them warm during the night. But with Magdeline’s Tlhokomelo and the help from the community, they received blankets to last them the entire winter season and care packs to remind them that they are part of a community that cares for them even when they cannot provide for themselves. Community service is a key pillar of Beauty With A Purpose.
Miss Botswana 2026 has always believed that giving back to the community is how one can serve the nation to make it a better place. Her organization focuses on making an impact on the community by creating awareness that each young child should have the right to go to bed warm and wake up safe and sound. Her motivation comes from a desire to care for the country’s future as she believes that each youngster should dream bigger and reach their best potential.
The young children received care packs and blankets as Magdeline reminded the poor young ones that there are people who care for them even if they are unrecognizable. In some instances, the best things come in small packages. The visit to Solomon Dihutso Primary School brought about the most needed care to the young ones who had little or no access to them. In addition, it reminded the young learners that they matter and someone cares for them even when they are unknown to them.
The Tlhokomelo initiative’s focus is to nurture state-of-the-art community services and welfare through impacting the community, particularly the children. This is because she believes that each child has potential, but it needs to be unearthed and utilized for the general well-being. It is an initiative that is dedicated to bringing about positive change in the community in a sustainable way to impact generations. It was through the tremendous support from Sunshine Insurance Company and OnePula Foundation that the event at the Solomon Dihutso Primary School came to fruition.
They believed in the initiative and partnered with the event to make it a success, thus making a difference in the lives of many.
