Botswana’s 2nd Princess, Girly Kookilwe, represented the nation at the Miss World Tourism Global Finals held in China in early October 2025. The event brought together contestants from more than 60 countries.

Though she did not place in the finals, Girly carried Botswana’s flag with pride, grace, and confidence. Her journey reflected the resilience, humility, and elegance that define the Miss Botswana brand.

Reflecting on her experience, Girly shared, “My 3 weeks in China have been nothing short of incredible! I am truly grateful for the care, love, and support I’ve received during my stay. To my fellow Batswana in China, you became my family away from home, making sure I had everything I needed. I’ve found parents, sisters, and brothers in you, and I’ll forever cherish that bond.”

She added, “While I may not have placed or brought home a crown, I return as a transformed individual, enriched with invaluable experiences and personal growth. I am proud to be an ambassador for my country. Thank you all for your unwavering support throughout this journey. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my pageantry journey. Your encouragement means the world to me.”

Girly’s participation at the Miss World Tourism competition marks another milestone for Botswana in global pageantry. Her commitment and poise continue to inspire young women to pursue excellence and represent the nation with pride on international platforms.

The Miss World Botswana Organization celebrates Girly Kookilwe for her outstanding representation and the dignity she carried throughout her journey.

She may have returned without a crown, but she brought home honor, pride, and inspiration for all Batswana.
