This past Saturday, the Grand Palm GICC was abuzz with excitement as the reigning Miss World Botswana, Anicia Gaothusi, crowned her successor, Ruth Thomas. The 23-year-old professional beauty advisor from Masunga captivated the judges and audience with her grace, intelligence, and unwavering mission to promote self-love and acceptance among Batswana.

Ruth’s journey to the crown was marked by an extraordinary prophecy made by Prophet David Uche, a renowned Nigerian preacher based in South Africa. During a visit to his church in Randburg, Ruth confidently voiced her ambition to win Miss Botswana, and the prophet, without hesitation, declared that she would soon wear the crown. True to his words, Ruth now holds the prestigious title of Miss Botswana 2025.

The grand finale, themed “African Regal,” was a dazzling showcase of cultural pride, elegance, and beauty. Prior to the crowning moment, attendees had the opportunity to explore the ABICOB Expo Exhibition, where key players in the beauty industry showcased their products and services. This addition to the event provided an immersive experience that celebrated both beauty and business.

Joining Ruth on the podium were Selwana Motsemeng, who was named 1st Princess, and Girlie Kookilwe, the 2nd Princess. Their remarkable performances throughout the competition highlighted the depth of talent and ambition among this year’s contestants.

As the newly crowned Miss Botswana 2025, Ruth Thomas is set to represent the nation at the 73rd Miss World pageant in 2026. With her passion, poise, and purpose, she is sure to make Botswana proud on the global stage.

Congratulations once again, Ruth!
