The Miss World Botswana Organization has received a significant boost ahead of the 2026 Grand Finale, securing a P500,000 sponsorship from long-standing partner Lucara Botswana.

The sponsorship was officially announced during a handover ceremony held at Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino, reaffirming a partnership grounded in a shared commitment to empowering young women and promoting Botswana’s culture, heritage, and global presence.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Lucara Botswana, Naseem Lahri, reflected on the growth and impact of the partnership, noting that Miss Botswana has evolved into more than just a pageant, but a platform that nurtures influential ambassadors.

She highlighted the journeys of past titleholders, including Lesego Chombo, emphasizing how the platform continues to shape women who go on to lead, inspire, and represent Botswana with pride. She further encouraged the current finalists to embrace their roles as advocates for the nation, celebrating Botswana’s identity through culture, fashion, and storytelling.

Director of Miss World Botswana, Benjamin Raletsatsi, expressed appreciation for the continued partnership, underscoring the importance of storytelling within the beauty and cultural industries.

He described Botswana as a country rich in assets, from its diamonds to its tourism, and noted that the beauty industry holds significant global value and potential to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic and cultural positioning on the international stage.

The ceremony also featured a symbolic moment as the Top 12 finalists of Miss Botswana 2026 were officially sashed, joined by the reigning queen Ruth Thomas. This marked an important step in their journey toward the crown, recognizing them as ambassadors in the making as they prepare for the final stage of the competition.

The Miss Botswana 2026 Grand Finale will take place at Molapo Creative Hub, where the next queen will be crowned to represent Botswana on the international stage.

The sponsorship from Lucara Botswana not only strengthens the organization’s capacity to deliver a world-class event but also reinforces a shared vision of empowering women and showcasing Botswana to the world.
