Breaking the Cycle, Healing the Scars.

Miss Botswana 2025, Ruth Thomas, proudly joins the continental 16 Days of Activism for the Elimination of Violence Against Women campaign, led by Mrs Universe Cameroon, Karelle KOM. This powerful regional initiative shines a spotlight on the intergenerational impact of conflict-related sexual violence, a deeply rooted issue that continues to affect women and girls across Africa.

As a national symbol of grace and leadership, Ruth brings both visibility and an authentic voice to the movement. Her commitment reflects Botswana’s broader dedication to the protection and empowerment of women. Her voice carries strength. Her presence inspires hope. Through her participation, Ruth amplifies the stories of survivors and champions the collective responsibility to end gender-based violence across the continent.

On the 3rd of December 2025, Ruth Thomas will take part in a high-level session themed “Fashion, Media and Social Networks: Modern Tools for Awareness and Advocacy.” This discussion will explore how creative industries and digital platforms can be used to challenge harmful norms, drive positive messaging, and mobilise communities for meaningful change. As a modern queen, Ruth represents the dynamic blend of influence, compassion, and impact—qualities essential for building a safer future for every woman.

The collaboration of queens from different African nations symbolises unity in purpose and power. When queens unite, change becomes unstoppable.

Miss Botswana celebrates Ruth Thomas for her leadership, courage, and commitment to advocacy. Together with continental partners, she stands to protect, uplift, and empower African women, ensuring that this movement extends far beyond these 16 days.

Catch the queen live on the 3rd of December!
