The Boy Child Project
My name is Keitumetse Sola, and my passion lies in creating awareness and advocating for the often-overlooked needs of the boy child. Through The Boy Child Project, I aim to shed light on the unique challenges boys face and encourage society to be more intentional about acknowledging and supporting their emotional, social, and developmental well-being.

For years, discussions about gender equity have rightfully focused on empowering the girl child. However, this has inadvertently left the boy child feeling unseen and unsupported, leading to imbalances with far-reaching consequences. Many boys lack safe spaces to express their emotions, face stigma when seeking help, and grow up without access to positive role models or basic essentials like school uniforms and shoes.
The Boy Child Project is an I See You initiative designed to:

-Raise awareness about the struggles boys face in our communities.
-Advocate for greater societal involvement in nurturing boys with love, guidance, and intentionality.
-Encourage the removal of stereotypes and societal expectations that discourage boys from seeking help or expressing their vulnerabilities.

-Provide practical assistance to boys in underserved areas, such as fundraising for school uniforms, shoes, and other essential resources.
My advocacy extends beyond simply highlighting the boy child’s challenges—I am committed to mobilizing communities, educators, parents, and organizations to join the movement to create a more balanced and compassionate society. Through this project, I want boys to know they are valued and that their voices matter.

In addition to awareness efforts, I am working towards hosting initiatives in remote villages to restore dignity and hope to boys who feel forgotten. Every contribution, every partnership, and every shared moment of care is a step toward transforming not only the lives of these boys but also the future of Botswana as a whole.

My passion project also focuses on grooming young boys into responsible, well-raised men who will become change agents in reducing GBV against women and girls, as well as addressing other societal issues like suicide and passion killings. It’s all about shaping the future with positive, lasting change.

Let’s work together to bridge the gap, remind boys they are loved, and build a generation of strong, compassionate, and responsible men.
