With hearts full of pride and hope, Botswana officially bid farewell to our reigning Miss World Botswana, Anicia Gaothusi, as she departed to represent our nation at the 72nd Miss World Festival in India.

Clothed in elegance and carrying the spirit of a nation, Anicia’s send-off was nothing short of royal.

Graceful, grounded, and glowing with purpose, she steps onto the international stage not just as a beauty queen, but as a proud ambassador of Botswana’s values, dreams, and resilience.

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs and reigning 71st Miss World Africa, Hon. Lesego Chombo, led the farewell, warmly sharing her own journey and experience at Miss World. In a touching speech, she encouraged Anicia to cherish every moment, remain true to herself, and carry the hopes of Batswana with confidence and grace.

Also present were Miss Botswana 2025, Ruth Thomas, along with her princesses, who came to show solidarity and sisterhood.

Their presence, alongside that of industry peers, media, family, and friends, reflected a powerful unity, one voice cheering Anicia on as she prepares to compete on one of the world’s biggest platforms.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Soft Landing Concierge Lounge for their hospitality, ensuring our Queens were seen off in comfort and class.

The 72nd Miss World Festival runs from 7–31 May 2025, celebrating global unity through Beauty With a Purpose. Anicia will join contestants from across the globe in showcasing not just beauty, but impactful advocacy, intelligence, and cultural pride.

Together, let’s make sure the world knows Botswana is here. 🇧🇼
