MISS BOTSWANA 2024, ANICIA GAOTHUSI, CHAMPIONS SDG 3 THROUGH “LIGHTS” PROJECT

Gaborone, Botswana — August 9, 2024 — Reigning Miss Botswana 2024, Anicia Gaothusi, continues to shine a light on health and wellness through her impactful project, “Lights”. With a mission to champion the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Anicia is committed to empowering communities across Botswana by promoting primary healthcare practices and raising awareness of essential first aid skills.

She hosted a Wellness Day event at Kana Kgang in Gaborone West with different sponsors aligned with Anicia’s vision. The event showcased the depth of her project and its potential to positively impact the lives of Batswana.

Participants were treated to a Yoga session with SLV Yoga House, designed to promote mental health and physical well-being. Argo Pedigree led an Aerobics session, emphasizing the importance of staying active as part of a healthy lifestyle. Anicia herself conducted a Basic First Aid demonstration with Life Flight Rescue equipping attendees with critical life-saving skills.

Anicia’s unwavering passion for her cause was evident throughout the day. Speaking about the event, she shared her gratitude and excitement for the progress made: “I am happy because people, especially my sponsors, get to understand what my project Lights is about and where I am going with it. They now know how to assist me in reaching my goal. I would like to also extent a special thanks to Olive Medical Centre, Emergency Assist 991, DKM Athleisure, Lefkara Dental Spa, Kana Kgang, SLV Yoga House, Argo Pedigree and Life Flight Rescue for making this wellness day a possibility.”
