As Ruth Thomas steps onto the 73rd Miss World stage, she carries with her a gown that celebrates Botswana’s 60 years of independence and the remarkable journey of a nation.
Encrusted with over 60 natural diamonds, the gown represents each year of Botswana’s independence and pays tribute to the country’s rich diamond heritage. The sky blue and royal blue reflect Botswana’s national colours, while the silver detailing captures the brilliance, beauty and enduring value of our diamonds.
The flowing design symbolises Botswana’s growth, strength and progress over six remarkable decades a nation that continues to rise, evolve and shine on the world stage.
Brought to life by local designer Delayna Scott, with diamonds supplied by Lucara Botswana and crafted by KGK Diamond Botswana, this gown is more than couture. It is a celebration of the treasures beneath our soil, the colours of our nation, and the extraordinary talent of our people.
Tonight, Ruth doesn’t simply wear a gown.
She wears 60 years of Botswana.
