Her story of courage began at just eight years old. In a moment far beyond her years, Selwana stood in court as a state witness to protect her friend from abuse. Her testimony helped secure justice and sparked what would later grow into Walk of Hope, a movement dedicated to ensuring that no child faces harm or fear alone.
As she grew older, her resilience only strengthened. At 15, she gained national recognition for her advocacy and fearless determination. This milestone became the foundation upon which she built her mission, creating safer, healthier environments for Botswana’s children and youth. From this mission emerged impactful initiatives such as Wise Up Monana and the SelwanaSkylar Foundation, organizations focused on youth empowerment, mental health awareness and providing safe spaces for young people to learn, heal and grow.
Today, Selwana is celebrated not only for surviving trauma, but for transforming it into leadership. Through her community work, public influence and national platform as Miss Botswana 2025 1st Princess, she courageously champion children’s rights, youth wellbeing and strong futures for Botswana’s next generation.
