In the heart of Hatsalatladi, a small and underserved village, Miss Botswana 2025, Ruth Thomas, made a lasting impact through her Beauty with a Purpose project, The Beauty Movement. By adopting Hatsalatladi, Ruth committed herself to uplifting both children and their families, creating a foundation for long-term change.

Through her project, Ruth engaged with the children of the village at Hatsalatladi Primary School, inspiring them to look beyond their circumstances and recognize their inherent worth.

Her engagement focused on nurturing confidence, personal growth and academic success, ensuring that the children could thrive mentally, physically and emotionally.

Ruth’s vision extended to parents as well. In collaboration with the Ratong Center, an organization dedicated to empowering women in Botswana, she provided life skills training to parents and the community, enabling them to create sustainable and nurturing environments for their children.

This initiative also helped families generate income and promoted stability within the home.

The Ratong Center further supported families through counseling and therapy, addressing emotional challenges and helping them build resilience in the face of adversity.

By combining educational empowerment with emotional support, Ruth and her partners fostered hope and opportunity for the entire community of Hatsalatladi.

“Being Miss Botswana is not just an honor, it is a responsibility. I want to make a real difference in communities like Hatsalatladi, empowering both children and parents so they could thrive and reach their full potential,” Ruth shared her motivation.

Through The Beauty Movement, Ruth Thomas exemplified the spirit of Beauty with a Purpose, showing that true beauty lies in uplifting others, inspiring hope and creating lasting impact.
