In celebration of purpose and national pride, Miss Botswana 2025, Ruth Thomas, together with her 1st Princess, Selwana Motlatsi Motsemeng and 2nd Princess, Girly Bone Kookilwe paid a courtesy visit to Lucara Botswana in Gaborone.

Lucara Botswana continues to stand as one of the leading pillars in the diamond industry, not only for its exceptional contributions to Botswana’s economy, but also for its commitment to ethical mining and community empowerment. Their work reflects a deeper story, one where value is measured not in just carats, but in care, integrity and responsibility to the nation.

During the visit, our Queen and her Princesses were taken through the captivating journey of how Botswana’s Diamonds move from the ground to the world stage.

They witnessed firsthand the skill, precision and dedication that goes into every step of the process, a process that holds the fingerprints of many Batswana whose craftsmanship shines across the globe.

This experience reinforced a partnership built on shared values:

  • Empowerment
  • Excellence
  • Authentic representation of Botswana

It was a reminder that true brilliance is not only seen, it is earned. It lives in effort, discipline, resilience and pride in one’s work.

The insights shared have offered our Queen and Princesses including the Miss World Botswana Organization team a meaningful perspective into an industry that remains central to Botswana’s identity and legacy.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Lucara Botswana for your warm hospitality and continued support.

Here’s to a journey where beauty meets brilliance and where purpose leads the way.
