Contestant name: Ms. Lame Ntelang-Segaise
Project execution site: KHWEE
Project name: SEDILARONA FOUNDATION: SUSTAINABLE FUTURES
Sustainable Futures is a purpose driven initiative dedicated to empowering women and children in underserved communities across Botswana. The project seeks to tackle poverty, education disparities, exclusions, and unemployment by promoting education, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Through this initiative, I saw it fit to establish a society called Sedilarona Foundation which aims at addressing societal pressing issues while redefining beauty queens as agents of meaningful change, aligning with Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose mandate.

The Mission of sustainable futures for all.
We believe that when you empower a woman, you empower a family, a community, and a nation. Women are the pillars of society, and children are the future leaders of tomorrow. Our mission is to foster education, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and cultural preservation, ensuring no one is left behind. This initiative aligns perfectly with *Botswana’s Vision 2036* striving to create a more inclusive and empowered nation.

*Objectives of the project*
1. Education & Mentorship: Equip women and girls with knowledge, mentorship, and access to STEM fields.
2. Economic Empowerment: Provide entrepreneurship programs using indigenous crafts and agricultural by-products. Cultural Preservation stands as a means to elevate Botswana’s rich heritage through traditional skills such as weaving, crocheting and pottery.
3. Philanthropy & Advocacy :Offer resources, school supplies, and health Educations to vulnerable groups.

*The Implementation & Mandate*
Phase 1: Identifying Needs:
Khwee was chosen as the starting point after identifying key challenges in the community. We found that:
– Aspiring entrepreneurs lacked resources and mentorship to start businesses.
– Many women had skills like crocheting but no capital to buy materials.
– There was insufficient awareness about health issues affecting families.
– Children lacked access to education resources and platforms to explore their talents.

Phase 2: Execution & Empowerment
To address these issues, Sedilarona Foundation took action:
– Entrepreneurial Support: After providing business skills training, we purchased wool for women passionate about crocheting, giving them the means to turn their skills into a source of income.
– Talent Development:Children interested in pageantry were given a platform to showcase their talent, receive mentorship, and encouraged to pursue their passion whether in sports, entertainment, or any other field.
– Philanthropy & Immediate Needs:Essential resources were distributed to children and families, ensuring that their immediate needs were met while working on sustainable long-term solutions.
*A Highlight of the Project*
One of the most touching moments was spending time with the children of Khwee bringing smiles to their faces and giving them a glimpse of life beyond their current conditions. It reinforced my goal of ensuring that *no one is left behind*. Every child deserves the chance to dream, to aspire, and to know that their future holds endless possibilities.

KEYNOTE
This is not just a project it is a legacy in the making. By transforming local resources into thriving opportunities, we are shaping a future where women and children lead in education, business, and innovation. *Sedilarona Foundation* is a call to action, a promise to redefine what it means to be a beauty queen a leader, a changemaker, and a builder of sustainable futures. Together, we can turn dreams into realities and build a Botswana where every individual has the chance to shine regardless of their geographical location.
