Miss World Botswana offers an outstanding platform for young women to express themselves and showcase their talents on a global stage. In collaboration with the Botswana Council of Women (BCW), the organisation has for the past six years, been dedicated to empowering young women and encouraging self-expression, personal growth and leadership.
With the innovative 3+1 strategy, Miss World Botswana aims to captivate the world and achieve the goal of bringing the Miss World crown to Botswana. The organisation takes pride in its past successes, such as Palesa Molefe’s remarkable performance at Miss World 2021, in Puerto Rico, which brought international recognition to Miss World Botswana, and Lesego Chombo’s historic win as 71st Miss World Africa. Looking ahead, the reigning queen, Anicia Gaothusi is poised to secure the Miss World crown in 2025.
As Botswana prepares to celebrate its 60th Independence anniversary in 2026, there is great anticipation to host Miss World in Botswana, marking a significant milestone for both the nation and Miss World Botswana.
Miss World Botswana is not just in a beauty business, but also a significant player in entertainment. With the support of key stakeholders, the organisation continues to make strides in the beauty industry, establishing itself as a pageant powerhouse. The “Journey to Miss World” television series, now in its second season, airs every Sunday at 19:30 on BTV and follows the reigning queen’s journey to the Miss World competition. The series also showcases auditions, expos, bootcamps, the beauty expo and the grand finale, inspiring viewers and participants alike.
The Miss Botswana auditions, held nationwide, are a search for the next queen, focusing on four key elements: Art, Tourism, Local Cuisine and Exhibitors. These aspects celebrate and promote Botswana’s rich cultural heritage while identifying a leader who represents the spirit of Botswana.
