Miss Botswana 2025 – Ruth Thomas
Ms. Ruth Thomas, 23 years old from Masunga is the reigning Miss Botswana 2025. Raised in Francistown in a faith-driven, humble home, she credits her strong Christian upbringing, especially her mother’s sacrifices for shaping her character and leadership. Ruth studies Clothing and Textile under SPEDU and is a Beauty Advisor trained in Beauty Basics through Clicks.
Her Beauty With A Purpose project, The Beauty Movement, challenges rigid beauty
standards and promotes self-worth and empowerment among women and girls. Rooted in deep faith, Ruth sees her crowning as a fulfillment of prayer and divine purpose. She
believes in celebrating differences as strengths and advocates for women to embrace their value beyond appearance or background.
As she prepares for Miss World 2025, Ruth aims to represent Botswana’s warmth, culture, and resilience while inspiring others through her story of humility, purpose, and unwavering faith.
A Message from Ruth Thomas, Miss Botswana 2025
My name is Ruth Thomas, the reigning Miss Botswana 2025, a young woman grounded in faith and guided by God’s wisdom to ignite change and foster unity among Batswana.
I believe that each of us has a role to play in shaping a better world. When we come together in love and unity, we unlock infinite possibilities for our nation. I’ve come to understand that God can create greatness from even the smallest beginnings, a reminder that we must never be defined or confined by our circumstances.
The true beauty of life lies in our ability to see value in others, to walk in humility and to lift
one other up. When we discover our voice, let it be a voice that speaks for the silenced,
uplifts the broken and carries the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
Together, let us build, heal and transform, one heart, one voice, one nation at a time.
Achievements - Ruth Thomas
My Beauty With A Purpose project, The Beauty Movement, is a heartfelt initiative inspired by my journey as a beauty advisor, where I witnessed how unrealistic beauty standards silently harm the self-worth of many women and girls. I created this movement to redefine beauty as a personal choice rooted in love, acceptance, and authenticity, not perfection. It especially amplifies the voices of women with vitiligo, burn survivors, and those with permanent scars, reminding them that their differences are not flaws but forms of freedom. I also take a firm stand against digital abuse through upcoming initiatives like Social Media Watch, which will call out online bullying and push for accountability. Through this movement, I want to build a Botswana where every woman feels seen, celebrated, and empowered to embrace her true self—because we are all beautifully and fearfully made.
I hold a qualification in Clothing and Textile from Humana People to People under SPEDU, and I also studied Beauty Basics through Clicks. My academic journey laid a foundation for my career in the beauty industry. These studies have not only equipped me with practical skills but also deeply inspired my Beauty With A Purpose project, The Beauty Movement, which is rooted in redefining beauty standards and empowering women to embrace their uniqueness.
