Entry Requirements:

To ensure that you are ready for this life-changing journey, here are the requirements to audition for Miss Botswana 2025:

  • Age: 18-25 years old
  • Minimum Height: 1.67 metres

This policy aligns with the Miss World Organisation pageant requirements for each country’s delegate; therefore in principle a Botswana delegate must align with the pageant’s image and values.

  • Valid ID: You must possess a valid identification document.
  • Clean Record: Candidates should have never been convicted of any crime.

This requirement upholds the integrity of the Miss Botswana organisation, ensuring that contestants serve as role models for the community. A clean record is essential for maintaining the pageant’s reputation.

  • Tattoo Policy: contestants should not have any visible tattoos.

This policy aligns with the Miss World Organisation pageant requirements for each country’s delegate; therefore in principle a Botswana delegate must align with the pageant’s image and values.

  • Passport Requirement: A valid passport is necessary or you must be eligible to obtain one.

Having a passport signifies readiness for potential international representation highlighting the global nature of pageantry.

  • Photographs: Bring a passport- sized photo and a full length photo.

These photographs are crucial for the audition process, allowing judges to assess how photogenic the contestants are as well as have reference photos for judges’ deliberation.

  • Project Summary: Prepare a printed summary of your intended project (maximum of 3000 words).

The Beauty with a purpose project plays a big role in the Miss World Botswana competition as this allows the judges to better understand how each aspiring contestant aims to bring about a meaningful change to their communities. This also allows the judges to further assess the project during judges deliberation where the aspiring contestants will be present. Therefore please ensure a clear and professional presentation of your project summary. Please note that your project summary will also be assessed for longevity and sustainability with the Miss World Organisation project standards in mind.

  • Audition Fee: P250.00 is required.
  • Marital Status: You must have never been married and not have given birth.

This requirement emphasises the pageant’s focus on young, single women who are at the beginning of their personal and professional journeys. The rationale behind this requirement is to encourage contestants to embody the youthful spirit and potential that the title represents. Miss World Botswana is also a delegate to represent Botswana at Miss World and one of the international requirements by the Miss World Organisation is for the delegate to have never been married and have never given birth.

Your Journey Begins Here: Unleash Your Potential at the Miss Botswana 2025 Auditions!

Advocacy plays a central role in beauty pageants like Miss Botswana, where contestants are encouraged to champion causes that are meaningful to them. In line with Miss World’s “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative, advocacy gives contestants a platform to address social issues and effect positive change within their communities. But how does one choose the right cause, and more importantly, how do you present it in a way that resonates with judges, audiences and yourself?

  1. Choosing a Cause: Reflecting Personal Passion and Purpose

The first step in advocacy is identifying a cause that resonates on a personal level. A powerful advocacy is rooted in authenticity and contestants who are deeply connected to their cause can better advocate for it.

  1. Aligning with MIss World’s Global Platform

While Miss Botswana contestants advocate for national causes, they must also remember that the winner represents Botswana on the Miss World stage. Therefore, selecting a cause with both local relevance and international appeal can give a contestant an edge. The “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative, established by Miss World, promotes sustainable projects that can improve lives worldwide, which means cause with global implications, such as education for all or environmental sustainability, often resonate well.

For instance, healthcare advocacy is significant in both Botswana and the world at large particularly when it addresses underserved communities. A contestant working on providing basic aid skills to communities might also look at the broader implications for access to emergency healthcare globally.

  1. Research and Understanding, Knowledge is Power

A deep understanding of the cause is crucial. Advocacy is not only about passion, its also about knowledge. Before presenting their cause, Miss Botswana contestants should thoroughly research the issue, this includes understanding:

  • The scope of the problem (how many people are affected?)
  • Solutions that have been attempted
  • Partnerships with organisations or stakeholders who are already working in the field.

When presenting to judges or speaking publicly, a contestant must show she has the knowledge and is commuted to driving change. It’s not enough to say you want to make a difference, you must demonstrate how you intend to do so.

  1. Presenting the Cause, Storytelling and Impact

How a contestant presents her advocacy is just as important as the cause itself. A compelling presentation should combine factual information with a personal story or testimony. Storytelling is a powerful tool for advocacy because it humanizes the issue, making it relatable and engaging.

At the Miss World competition, this storytelling ability becomes even more critical, as the contestant is tasked with communicating her cause to a global audience. A well-crafted story that highlights local issues but also speaks to universal human experiences will have the greatest impact.

  1. Collaboration and Community Engagement

Successful advocacy often requires collaboration, Miss Botswana contestants are encouraged to engage with existing organisations, communities and government bodies to help drive their initiatives forward. Building partnerships can increase the reach and effectiveness of a contestant’s project. Furthermore, working closely with stakeholders demonstrates leadership and the ability to mobilise resources.

For instance, if a contestant is passionate about environmental sustainability, partnering with environmental NGOs, local schools, or government ministries can help ensure that her advocacy efforts are not only heard but also acted upon. This collaborative approach is in line with Miss World’s emphasis on creating long-lasting, sustainable projects.

Advocacy is a significant component of Miss Botswana and Miss World, but its important to balance this with other elements of the competition. Contestants must also focus on poise, public speaking, and overall presentation. A strong advocate is someone who can communicate clearly, engage an audience, and inspire action.
